Collectables and Antiques - Quality at Reasonable Cost

We have been dealing in antiques and collectables in the South East for a number of years.  Exhibiting at fairs stretching from Peterborough to Southend we have built up a reputation for supplying good quality items at affordable prices.

This site is presently under construction as we endeavour to upgrade and catalogue illustrations of our stock properly.  New items are added to the site, and sold items marked, as soon as is practical.  Stock will constantly change from week to week.

Please note it is not possible for reasons of space for us to display all of our collections at all of our fairs.  Please call or mail and we shall be happy to ensure that an item of interest is taken to a specific event.  In time all items will be shown with an indicative price.  As at antique fairs, we are willing to negotiate reasonable discounts for most things.

Anything can be reserved with a small deposit for collection at a fair.  We can post to addresses in the UK - postage and packing charged at cost.
Our Business

Nick & Jan Collectables offers a wide range of items, although the majority will be from the ceramics discipline.  Our collections are drawn from a diverse selection of potteries - Doulton, Beswick, Goebels, Shorter, Wade, Sylvac and many others. Our date range covers from mid-Victorian to late 20th Century, although no items are new or currently available through retail outlets.

From these well known potters we offer:
        • Limited Editions
        • Animals and Birds
        • Toby and Character jugs
        • Lambeth ware
        • Figurines
                      •
We like to offer a selection of interesting objects apart from ceramics and include late Victorian and early 20th Century small silver vestas, brooches etc.  Some treen and other wooden items find their way into our stock - writing slopes, ink wells, trinket boxes and tea caddies.

Some glass ware, paper knives, netsukes, copper, bronze and brassware have also been known to appear on our stall.

Our business stemmed from a lifelong passion for antiques & collectables and many  years of attending fairs and visiting shops.  We have brought that experience with us into the retail side of the business with a dedication to providing good service, quality items and a friendly atmosphere.  We are very lucky to have built up a reputation and the benefit of many regular customers.

From the beginning, it was always our intention to create an interesting and attractive display by showing a wide range of ceramics and curios.  Whilst the majority of our stock is certainly ceramics, there is always something of interest for everyone.  As collectors ourselves, we understand both sides of the collecting business.

It is not our policy to sell items that are imperfect, either damaged or restored.  However, in the case of rarer items where perfect examples are difficult to find we will make exceptions.  These items will be clearly marked as restored and the pricing will reflect that status.

All items on our stall are clearly labelled with price and any information that we have found during our research.
